Genetic analysis is currently in the limelight due to various benefits
it offers for human beings. For attaining the best benefit a complete
knowledge on the functions of different genes in human, animals and
plants is essential. Enormous amount of data pertaining to nucleotide
and amino acid sequences have been generated from wet laboratories
of our globe. These data are the outcome of genome projects aimed at
decoding the entire genome of the above subjects. The results are
stored in genetic libraries.
BMERF's Biotechnology Laboratory
too strives hard to contribute at least a small amount of scientific
literature pertaining to the above fields. The Research scholars in these laboratories are
trained to generate their own data. With the aid of 2D gel analytical
software they analyze Nucleotide or Polypeptide fractions
on their PAGE (or) AGE.
Since vaccine production is one of the pivotal areas in human health
and well being. Currently the institute is engaged with
immunotechnological research
studies on Leptospirosis and other infectious diseases. It is
note worthy to mention about the exposure of our graduate and post
graduate students on the protein subunit & DNA vaccinal
projects of these infectious diseases.
